The film, a 10-minute artistic documentary commissioned by the Egypt Expo & Convention Authority for the Zaha Hadid Egypt Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo needed to represent a country of enterprise and progression alongside tradition and the wonders of its 5000 years of history.

Designed to be projected onto the surface of the pavilion, this was not a traditional documentary but layered images, voices and sound continually reshaping and moving around the audience without clear boundary or fixed screen size.

Created as an expression of Egypt, it was also important the film evoked different aspects of Egypt’s culture while promoting the country as a prime business and tourist destination.
